It is permissible to delay the funeral prayer (Salat al-Janazah) in order to wait for a larger congregation, provided that this delay does not lead to a change in the state of the deceased or cause hardship to those present.

Similarly, there is no harm in performing the funeral prayer after the Asr prayer, as long as the sun has not begun to yellow and is not close to setting.
