Did the Messenger (peace be upon him) leave his homeland for Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, and Yemen, and did he know anything about the Gospel and the Torah?

Before his prophethood, the Prophet, peace be upon him, did not leave Mecca except on two occasions: The first was as a young boy, at the age of twelve, when his uncle Abu Talib traveled with him to Busra (on the outskirts of Syria) for trade. However, he brought him back out of fear for him from the Jews and Christians. The second was at the age of twenty-five, when he traveled to Syria as a merchant with Khadijah's wealth, accompanied by her servant Maysara. The Prophet, peace be upon him, knew nothing about divine scriptures or other books, and he was unlettered, neither reading nor writing. This is one of his greatest miracles, in fulfillment of Allah Almighty’s saying: "And you did not recite before it any book, nor did you inscribe it with your right hand. Otherwise, the falsifiers would have doubted."
