Is the hijab a sectarian garment?

The hijab (definition) is an obligatory religious duty enjoined by Allah upon believing women. It is an Islamic dress, not a sectarian one. If by "sectarian" it is meant that a group of Muslims became known for adhering to it, then this adherence to Allah's law is commendable. However, if it is meant that it incites conflict between sects, then the blame falls upon those who violate the hijab or contend with those who adhere to it, and not upon the hijab itself.
