Is it permissible to eat crow, deer, fox, and falcon?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is forbidden to eat crows because they are among the harmful creatures that may be killed both inside and outside the sacred precincts ( الحل والإحرام), and they consume carrion and impure things, except for the rook (crow of the cultivated land), which is permissible. It is forbidden to eat foxes because they have canine teeth, prey on others, and eat impure things. Similarly, it is forbidden to eat falcons because they are among the birds of prey with talons that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade, and they eat carrion and impure things. As for deer, they are permissible by consensus.
