What is the ruling on invoking blessings upon the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) in forms attributed to specific individuals and accompanied by virtues for which there is no evidence in the Sunnah, and what is the longest proven form of invoking blessings upon the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) in the Sunnah?

The Mashishiyyah prayer, attributed to Abd al-Salam ibn Mashish, contains reprehensible phrases unless they are interpreted allegorically. Furthermore, asserting a specific reward for it has no basis in Islamic law. No authentic hadith has been reported that specifies its form or reward, hence it is an innovation (bid'ah) that one must be wary of.

The matter of invoking blessings upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is broad, as long as it does not involve an Islamic transgression or if its reciter does not believe in a specific reward that has not been reported in Islamic law.
