What is the sin associated with homosexual inclinations, and is a person considered homosexual even if they have not committed the lewd act? What is the ruling regarding someone who is subjected to insult and contempt because of these inclinations? Is it correct to link the punishment for sodomy to the people of Lot? And is it true that the punishment for sodomy is the most severe of punishments in terms of proof?

A physician is not permitted to shame a patient for a sin he committed, as this is gloating over Muslims. What is attributed to Ibn al-Qayyim, saying: "He will not be guided to goodness even after his repentance," is incorrect. Sincere repentance erases all sins, including sodomy, and one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin. The prescribed punishment for sodomy in Islamic law is death for both the perpetrator and the one on whom the act is performed, if he was willing. There are great divine wisdoms in Allah's testing a servant with sin, among them His love for those who repent. It is recommended to stay away from bad company, choose righteous companionship, occupy one's time with beneficial deeds, and make abundant supplication.
