Is it obligatory to sell ornamental gold to cover the expenses of Hajj for myself and my mahram if funds are not available?

The obligation of Hajj is conditioned upon financial and physical capability. Part of financial capability is that a Muslim possesses wealth exceeding their basic necessities, such as food, clothing, and transportation. If they have surplus wealth beyond their needs, and its disposal would not affect them, they are required to sell it to perform Hajj. Among the basic necessities for a woman is the jewelry she adorns herself with. If it is within her needs, without excess or extravagance, she is not required to sell it for Hajj. However, if it exceeds her needs, she must sell the surplus for Hajj.
