What is the ruling on listening to the Qur’an from a recorder while in a state of ritual impurity (janabah)?

It is permissible for a person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) to listen to the Qur’an and to let its meaning penetrate their heart, and to whisper it without audibly reciting it, as long as their hearing is sound. The esteemed scholar Ahmad ibn Qasim al-Abbadi mentioned the permissibility of this, as well as looking into the Mushaf (copy of the Qur'an), and reciting abrogated verses (those whose rulings were abrogated but whose recitation remains), the Hadith Qudsi, the Torah, and the Gospel.
