Does a woman's vaginal discharge nullify wudu'?

The vaginal discharge of a woman invalidates ablution according to the majority of scholars, and this is the relied-upon opinion. Ibn Hazm, however, held the view that it does not invalidate ablution, but he is not known to have any predecessors among earlier scholars who agreed with him, and his statement might contradict scholarly consensus. Sheikh Ibn 'Uthaymeen was of the opinion that the default for this discharge is that it invalidates ablution unless there is a predecessor who held the view that it does not, due to the difficulty and it being a common occurrence. Therefore, it is not appropriate to imitate those who say it does not invalidate ablution unless it is proven that a scholar from the predecessors of the Ummah held this view.
