Does the fasting person break their fast if a drop of water lands on their lip and they doubt whether they swallowed it, even though they are certain they did not swallow it?

If one doubts that water entered their throat after rinsing their mouth, their fast is valid and they are not required to make up the day, because the default assumption is that water did not enter. A Muslim should not feign breaking their fast during the day in Ramadan, for that shows a lack of reverence for the sanctity of fasting, exposes oneself to ill suspicion, and violates the command to protect one's honor. A Muslim should also avoid situations that invite suspicion, to safeguard the hearts and tongues of people. This feigning may also indicate a lack of modesty. Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "He who does not feel shy before people does not feel shy before Allah."
