Is wearing the hijab or being in a state of ablution (wuḍū’) required for the prostration of gratitude (sujūd al-shukr)?

Prostration of thankfulness (sujud ash-shukr) is a great act of worship and a neglected Prophetic Sunnah. It is legislated upon the renewal of a general or specific blessing, or the warding off of a misfortune. It does not require the conditions of prayer, such as purification, covering of the awrah, or facing the qiblah. It does not necessitate a takbir, tashahhud, or taslim. It is recommended to say what is appropriate therein, such as praise, supplication, and seeking forgiveness. One should not perform prostration of thankfulness within the prayer. If one is unable to perform it at the time of its cause, it is permissible to make it up, unless it was without an excuse, in which case it is not legislated to make it up.
