Is it considered a reprehensible act for someone to deny the shame of sins, and to see it as a product of ignorance and the weakness of current culture, varying from person to person and from one society to another?

Major sins and indecencies are a disgrace and shame in this world and the Hereafter, and they bring God’s wrath. One must conceal the perpetrators if they are discreet and have not committed them openly, but this does not mean accepting their actions or condoning them. The correct view of those who commit major sins and indecencies is with two eyes: the eye of divine decree, so we have mercy on them, for God’s will cannot be averted; and the eye of the Sacred Law, so we detest their actions and enforce the prescribed legal punishments upon them.
