Is it permissible to sponsor an orphan on behalf of a deceased person?
It is permissible to sponsor orphans and dedicate the reward thereof to a deceased Muslim. For every good deed a Muslim performs and dedicates its reward to a deceased Muslim, the reward reaches them. Sponsoring orphans is among the best acts of closeness to Allah and has the greatest reward, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I and the sponsor of an orphan will be like these two in Paradise," and he pointed with his index and middle fingers.
