Does the Muslim who has not pledged allegiance to the Imam die a death of Jahiliyyah as a disbeliever, and is it obligatory to pledge allegiance to the coercive ruler who does not implement Sharia?

The meaning of dying a death of ignorance (jahiliyyah) is conformity with the state of the people of Jahiliyyah, who lacked a universally obeyed leader. This does not constitute disbelief (kufr). Whoever's imamate (leadership) is valid and around whom people have gathered, obedience to him becomes obligatory, and it is impermissible to rebel against him. However, it is not permissible to obey him in disobedience to Allah. Rather, he must be advised if he does something that contravenes the Sharia, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Religion is advice."
