Is a mother obligated to obey her children and husband by traveling abroad for fear of them going astray or disliking religiosity, or should she refuse for fear of temptation?

The mother's opinion and stance in protecting her children from corruption and intermingling are excellent, and it is more befitting for the father to stand by her side. The children can be convinced of the danger of traveling to tourist countries by explaining that protecting them from evil and corruption is a religious duty for the parents.

Allah has blessed Muslims in their own lands with beautiful places that a conservative family can visit, foremost among them being the Holy Lands in Makkah and Madinah. A Muslim family should not make travel a regular part of their lives; instead, they should accustom their children to utilizing holidays for beneficial programs or permissible studies.

Those responsible for raising children must be cautious in safeguarding this trust, especially with the spread of corruption in homes. Children can be convinced by mentioning real-life examples of those who returned harmed from such travels.

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded us to stay away from temptations and their places. Imran ibn Husayn narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "(Whoever hears of the Dajjal should keep away from him, for by Allah, a man may come to him thinking he is a believer, but then follow him due to the specious arguments he presents)."

Ibn al-Jawzi said: "Beware - may Allah have mercy on you - of exposing yourself to a cause of tribulation, for it is unlikely that one who approaches temptation will be safe from it." Ibn al-Qayyim said: "Nothing helps in getting rid of evil like staying away from its causes and suspected places."

The father must support his wife and utilize the children's obedience to guide them towards what benefits them. Your insistence on not traveling to those countries might convince them to consider domestic tourism or visiting the Two Holy Mosques.
