Is it permissible for a girl seeking work, living in a European country, to conduct a consulting interview with a man alone in a work office, where the door is closed for half an hour (without locking it), even though the building is full of others, given that it is a mandatory appointment from the state that entails a deduction of part of the aid if she does not attend, and knowing that her husband is not allowed to enter with her?
The authentic has prohibited the seclusion of a man with a non- woman, with Satan being the third of them, inciting lust. The criterion for forbidden seclusion is their being alone together in a place where it is certain that no third person can enter, and there is suspicion, or a gathering where suspicion cannot usually be avoided.
So, if suspicion is absent and the entry of a third person is possible, it is not considered forbidden seclusion. However, if the entry of a third person is prohibited except with permission, then it is forbidden seclusion and is impermissible.
And if there is no need for work, seeking safety is more appropriate, bearing in mind that the maintenance of the woman is obligatory upon the husband, and she is not obligated to work to spend on herself.
