Is it permissible to remove the impurity of dry donkey feces with earth?

The droppings of a donkey contaminate clothes or the body, and this impurity is not removed except with pure water, according to the majority of scholars. However, Abu Hanifa and a narration from Ahmad permit purifying it with water and any pure liquid that removes it. The ruling of impurity is not removed by rubbing it with earth unless it has affected the sole of a khuff (leather slipper) or a sandal, in which case it is purified by rubbing it on the ground.
