Is it permissible to falsely swear upon the Qur'an in order to preserve one's reputation, knowing that this will not harm anyone?

Lying is forbidden and is one of the most detestable characteristics. Swearing by the Mushaf (the Qur'an) has the same ruling as swearing by Allah. Therefore, whoever swears by it falsely, that is a 'Yamin Ghamus' (a perjured oath that immerses the swearer in sin), and it is one of the major sins. However, if swearing becomes a means to conceal oneself and avoid openly committing a sin, then in this case, lying is permissible, provided that 'Tawriya' (ambiguity) and 'Ta'rid' (indirect speech) are used instead of explicit lying.
