Is it permissible to swear falsely upon the Noble Qur’an before an enemy to avoid death?

A "yamin ghamus" (a false oath taken intentionally to usurp the right of another) is forbidden, unless it is a means to avert harm from oneself or others. In such a case, it is permissible to swear, even falsely, to repel injustice. However, it is better for the one swearing the oath to use ambiguous language to avoid outright lying.
