Is it permissible for a mother to gift her infant son a gold ring for him to wear for a period, then for her to sell it?

Scholars have differed regarding the permissibility of adorning a child with gold and silver jewelry. Al-Nawawi authenticated its permissibility, stating the permissibility of adorning children with jewelry and silk on Eid day due to their lack of accountability. He further stated that the most correct view, as explicitly mentioned in texts, is the permissibility of adorning them with such throughout the rest of the year as long as they have not reached puberty. Therefore, it is permissible for a mother to adorn her male child with a gold ring as long as he has not reached puberty; once he reaches puberty, it becomes forbidden for him.
