What is the meaning of humility (khushū‘) in the verse: "Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbled at the remembrance of Allah and what has descended of the truth?"

In the Arabic language, 'khushu'' (reverence/devotion) means tranquility, serenity, and humility. In Islamic law, it is the awe of Allah, the effects of which appear on the limbs through humility and stillness. It is also a state in the heart of fear, mindfulness, and submission to Allah, the effect of which appears on the limbs through stillness and attentiveness in prayer.
