How can one reconcile the Hadith, "It is not fitting for a believer to humiliate himself" by exposing himself to an affliction he cannot bear, with the Hadiths and verses that urge patience, steadfastness, sacrifice, and enduring hardships?

The hadith: "It is not befitting for a believer to humiliate himself" presents no problem and is consistent with Islamic law, which enjoins the believer to seek well-being and not to wish for an encounter with the enemy. It also prohibits exposing oneself to trials. However, if a believer finds himself with no alternative, he must endure and submit. This is supported by the statements of scholars regarding the issues of enjoining good and forbidding evil, jihad, and the testimony of the master of martyrs.
