It is not permissible for a Muslim to expose himself to an affliction he cannot bear. This is based on the indicating that enjoining good and forbidding evil is not obligatory if it will lead to an unbearable affliction for the individual. Furthermore, it is not permissible for a Muslim to humiliate himself to attain a position, wealth, or any worldly objective.
