What is the ruling on the salary of a suitor who cheated in his studies, and is his repentance a condition for his salary to be lawful?

One who cheated in exams, if he is proficient in his job and performs it as required, then there is no sin upon him concerning the salary he receives, and his cheating in some exams does not affect it. He must repent to Allah for the past cheating.
