What is the Sharia ruling on a wife remaining with a husband who drinks alcohol and stays out late constantly, and who does not respond to advice? And does she have the right to seek a divorce?

If a husband drinks alcohol and neglects his wife's rights, this is a reprehensible act and a violation of Allah's saying: "And live with them in kindness." A Muslim must adhere to the Sharia. We advise praying for him and directing people of knowledge and virtue to him. If he continues to drink alcohol, the wife has the right to seek a divorce to remove the harm, or she can be patient and strive to reform him.
