What is the ruling on not seeking forgiveness from parents if they have wronged us, and our being influenced by those who ask for their forgiveness?

Abusing and angering one's parents is among the highest degrees of disobedience, and it is one of the gravest major sins. Allah has forbidden even saying the word "uff" (a word of annoyance) to them and has commanded kindness towards them. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The Lord's pleasure is in the parents' pleasure, and the Lord's wrath is in the parents' wrath." Whoever has wronged their parents must repent to Allah and hasten to seek their forgiveness and appease them. Allah Almighty says: "And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And to parents, show goodness. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of annoyance [uff], nor repel them, but speak to them a noble word." A noble word is a soft, gentle word. And Allah Almighty says: "Give thanks to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination."
