Scholars have characterized the Quranic stories as realistic, and the information descended from Allah in His well-guarded Book. The Quran explicitly mentions the Isra' in Surat Al-Isra', and many hadiths have affirmed it. The majority of scholars and many prominent exegetes have held that the Isra' and Mi'raj occurred physically and while awake. This has been established in all hadith compilations and was narrated by the Companions throughout all parts of the Islamic world.
