Interpretation of dreams is permissible for those who are skilled in it, and it is neither divination nor claiming knowledge of the unseen. No legal ruling (hukm shar'i) can be established by a dream, nor can a lifespan be determined by it, nor can its realization be definitively affirmed, as it may be true or it may not. The determination of lifespans is part of the knowledge of the unseen, exclusive to Allah. A believer's dream is often true as time draws near, but it may contain falsehood, and the interpreter may err. It is not permissible to interpret dreams except for those who are skilled in it, and one should not trifle with prophethood.
