Is it Sunnah to supplicate before or after drinking Zamzam water? Is it permissible to make more than one supplication? Is it preferable for the drinker to be in a state of Wudu? Is the answering of supplication with Zamzam water limited to drinking it in Makkah, or does it include what is sent from it? Is it recommended to drink one's fill of it in three sips?

"Zamzam water is for whatever it is drunk for." So, whoever drinks it with the intention of healing will be healed, Allah willing, and whoever drinks it with the intention of being guided to righteous deeds will be guided, Allah willing.

There is no مرفوع (Marfu') Hadith indicating the desirability of making supplication when drinking Zamzam. However, it is authentically reported that Ibn Abbas used to say, "O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, abundant provision, and healing from every disease" when he drank it, and the supplication should be made after drinking.

There is no specific evidence for the desirability of drinking it while in a state of Wudu, but it is recommended to say "Bismillah," drink in three sips, drink until one's ribs are full, face the Qiblah, and praise Allah upon finishing.
