Does Islamic law vindicate the brother and punish his brother's wife if he lodges a complaint against her for falsely accusing him of breaking his fast in Ramadan and causing problems?

Whoever reviles a Muslim with something that does not necessitate a Hadd punishment, such as falsely accusing them of breaking their fast in Ramadan, then no Hadd punishment is due upon them. However, the ruler may administer a discretionary punishment (ta'zir) as he deems deterrent. It is advised to forgive the offender and to counsel her with kindness. If she does not desist, her husband or guardian should be informed. Forgiveness increases a person in honor and earns them Allah's forgiveness.
