How sound is the narration about the Christian man who embraced Islam and mentioned his meeting with monks who advised him to go to Mecca and described the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) to him, so the Prophet asked him: "If your words are true, then he is the Messiah, Jesus?"

The story of the conversion to Islam of the Companion Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) is a long narration that traces his journey from Zoroastrianism to Christianity, and then his search for the awaited Prophet. The narration does not mention that the last monk Salman met was Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), rather Jesus (peace be upon him) will return at the end of time. Salman's story begins in Isfahan, where he was a Zoroastrian. Then, he was drawn by the sound of Christian prayer in a church in Sham (Greater Syria). After converting to Christianity, he moved among a number of righteous monks in Mosul, Nusaybin, and Ammuriyah. The last monk in Ammuriyah described to him the signs of a prophet who would appear in the land of the Arabs: he would eat gifts but not charity, between his shoulders would be the Seal of Prophethood, and his migration would be between two lava fields, both containing palm trees. Salman traveled with difficulty to Medina, where he met the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and confirmed the signs. Then, he was freed from slavery by a miracle and became one of the Companions.
