The answer

A servant's turning back from what he was pursuing due to ill omens from something he saw is considered (polytheism), because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Al-Tiyarah (superstitious belief in omens) is Shirk," and "Whoever is turned back from his need by Al-Tiyarah has committed Shirk," and "Whoever is turned back from something by Al-Tiyarah has approached Shirk."
