Is the speaker considered a polytheist, and what are the consequences thereof, if he speaks with others about the devil's whisperings to him concerning the essence of God and the reality of the universe, with the aim of achieving psychological comfort from a deadly feeling?

Obsessive thoughts (waswasa) attack the heart involuntarily, and one's dislike and rejection of them are clear proof of faith. Doubt, on the other hand, is the opposite of certainty and is a state of hesitation between two things. Whoever dislikes obsessive thoughts and strives to repel them is a person of faith. However, whoever follows them and reaches a state of doubt, that is a danger. Not everyone who experiences doubt becomes a hypocrite or an apostate; they may still have faith in Allah and His Messenger. Sincere repentance erases the sins that preceded it, even polytheism. Allah Almighty says: "And indeed, I am Forgiving to whoever repents, believes, does righteousness, and then is guided." The way to repel obsessive thoughts is to seek Allah's help, engage in frequent remembrance (dhikr), perform righteous deeds, and acquire beneficial knowledge.
