The door of repentance is open to all servants. One afflicted with obsessive-compulsive disorder should not think that he has apostatized. What the questioner experienced due to his fear of the man is not considered apostasy, especially since his heart is reassured by faith. Uttering clear disbelief due to fear does not make one a disbeliever, based on the Almighty’s saying: "Whoever disbelieves in Allah after his belief, except for him who is compelled [to do so] while his heart is at peace with faith." Visiting a church is not disbelief, and whoever utters words that could be interpreted as apostasy or otherwise does not become a disbeliever by that.
