What are the Sunan whose omission, due to forgetfulness or oversight, necessitates a Sujud Qabli (prostration of forgetfulness before the Taslim) in prayer? And does forgetting the supplication "Lord, forgive me" between the two prostrations necessitate a Sujud Qabli according to some jurists?

Scholars have differed concerning the Sunan (recommended acts) for which the prostration of forgetfulness ( sujood as-sahw) is legislated if a worshiper forgets them. The Malikis hold that there are eight Sunan for which one performs sujood as-sahw if forgotten: reciting anything other than Umm al-Qur'an (Surah Al-Fatihah), audibly reciting, silently reciting, the takbirat (excluding the takbirat al-ihram), the tahmeed (saying Sami'a Allahu liman hamidah and Rabbana wa lakal hamd), the first tashahhud, sitting for it, and the final tashahhud. For anything other than these, there is no sujood as-sahw.

The Shafi'is and the majority of scholars believe that the tasbeeh (glorification) and all other adhkar (remembrances) in bowing and prostrating, saying: " Sami'a Allahu liman hamidah", and " Rabbana wa lakal hamd", and the takbirat (excluding the takbirat al-ihram), are all Sunan whose omission, whether intentional or accidental, does not invalidate the prayer and does not necessitate sujood as-sahw. It is, however, disliked to omit them intentionally.

Conversely, the prevalent view among the Hanbalis is that sujood as-sahw is obligatory for one who forgets seven obligatory acts: the takbirat (excluding the takbirat al-ihram), the tasbeeh in bowing and prostrating, the tasmee' (saying Sami'a Allahu liman hamidah) and tahmeed (saying Rabbana wa lakal hamd), saying: " Rabb ighfir li" (My Lord, forgive me) between the two prostrations, the first tashahhud and sitting for it, and sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the final tashahhud. Whoever omits them intentionally, their prayer is invalidated. Whoever omits them forgetfully rectifies it with sujood as-sahw.

Therefore, omitting the supplication: " Rabb ighfir li" between the two prostrations, whether forgetfully or intentionally, does not necessitate anything according to the majority of scholars, while it obligates sujood as-sahw according to the prevalent view among the Hanbalis.
