What is the ruling on covering the face after the age of menopause?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

A woman's cessation of menstruation does not necessarily mean she is permitted to uncover her face. If she is an old woman for whom men have no desire due to her advanced age, then it is permissible for her to uncover her face because the risk of temptation (fitnah) is absent. However, if her menstruation ceases while she is still in her forties or close to it, and she is still beautiful, then it is not permissible for her to uncover her face, according to the preponderant opinion of the scholars.
