Do those who die of cancer, or by burning, or by drowning enter Paradise?

Martyrdom is defined by several types, including: the one who dies by plague, the one who dies of an abdominal disease, the drowned, the one who dies under a collapsed building, the one who dies by fire, and the woman who dies during childbirth (bi-jum'). All these deaths involve severe hardship, which Allah has graciously bestowed upon the Ummah of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, making them an expiation for their sins and an increase in their rewards. It has not been authentically reported in the Sunnah (definition) that whoever dies while sick is a martyr.

One who dies from "cancer" may be categorized with the one who dies of an abdominal disease if the cancer is located in the "abdomen," provided that the illness was not caused by consuming forbidden things, such as smoking or narcotics, unless they repented with sincere repentance. If the illness is in a different location other than the abdomen, or if it was caused by a forbidden act and they did not repent, then they do not attain the status of martyrs.
