I always carry Ayat al-Kursi in my pocket and would like to keep a small Quran with me, but I face a challenge when going out, especially to the club, as I cannot enter the restroom with it. What do you advise?
Praise be to Allah and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. A Muslim should not belittle the sanctities of Allah, especially the words of the Lord of the Worlds. It is not permissible to enter the bathroom with something containing the Quran unless it has a covering that protects it. It is disliked to mention Allah verbally when entering the bathroom or to bring items containing mention of Allah, such as paper, currency, or a ring, unless they are covered or if there is fear of them being lost. Reading the Quran in the bathroom is absolutely prohibited, and entering with a complete or partial Quran is forbidden unless there is fear of loss or damage. Permission to enter with the Quran is contingent upon two conditions together: fear and covering.
