The possession of humans by jinn is established, and it is expelled by according to Islamic law. Reciting the verses of ruqyah from the Qur’an is permissible. However, opening the Qur’an for sorcery and charlatanism, such as foretelling the future or diagnosing illnesses from specific verses, is the work of charlatans. A healer using the Qur’an does not need to open the if he has memorized it; otherwise, he should only open it for recitation. It is permissible for a healer to take a fee for performing ruqyah according to Islamic law.
