What is the ruling on adultery in the blessed month of Ramadan during fasting hours and in the last ten days, and what is its expiation?

Whoever commits this sin in Ramadan has committed a major transgression and disobeyed Allah. He must hasten to sincere repentance, seek forgiveness, and feel remorse for what has passed. He should seek what is lawful, and he is bound by the severe expiation: freeing a slave; if he cannot find one, then fasting for two consecutive months; if he is unable to do that, then feeding sixty poor persons, in addition to making up for the day he corrupted. He must conceal himself, hasten to repent, and avoid abominations.
