Will God forgive someone who touched his fiancée before the marriage contract after the contract has been made?

The term "engagement" (الخطوبة) is often used to describe the period after the marriage contract (عقد) but before consummation (الدخول). In this case, there is no harm in what occurs between the spouses because they have already become husband and wife. However, if the intention was merely a promise of marriage without a contract, then any enjoyment that occurred between them is Islamically forbidden. In this situation, repentance, seeking forgiveness, and sincere regret are obligatory. There is no specific expiation for this, but it is recommended to increase good deeds.
