The best and most beloved names to Allah are "Abdullah" and "Abdur-Rahman," and similar names that express human servitude to Allah. This is because they include a necessary description of Allah and describe the human being with true servitude to Him. It is narrated in Sahih Muslim that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, the most beloved of your names to Allah are Abdullah and Abdur-Rahman." Appended to these are "Abdur-Rahim," "Abdul-Malik," and "Abdur-Samad." The virtue of these names comes from their being truly attributed to Allah Almighty. Furthermore, the name "Abdullah" is one of the names of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
