What is the ruling on ejaculating by hand and through imagination?

Allah Almighty says, describing the believers: "And those who guard their private parts Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed – But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors." Therefore, masturbation by hand or through imagination is a forbidden transgression, and it carries serious material and moral harms. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, guided to marriage as a remedy, and whoever is unable to do so should resort to fasting and patience, for it is a shield for him.
