What is the ruling on persisting in seeking work in Medina due to its virtues?
Madinah is blessed and possesses many virtues, but the sanctity of a land does not sanctify a person; rather, it is their deeds that sanctify them. Allah holds people accountable for their actions, not for their place of residence. A diligent and hardworking Muslim is better than one who secludes himself for worship in Makkah or Madinah. Living in Makkah or Madinah carries the risk of magnifying sin, and some of the Salaf (early Muslims) avoided residing there for fear of their sins being multiplied. Nevertheless, if a believer fears falling into temptation and perceives the rectification of their heart and deeds in Madinah, then it is permissible for them to reside there, especially in light of the Hadith: "Whoever can die in Madinah, let him die there, for I will intercede for whoever dies there."
