There is no religious impediment to working in translation, provided that the Muslim does not translate anything that contradicts the creed or religious rulings, unless the translation is for the purpose of achieving a legitimate interest, such as refuting falsehood and exposing it. As for translation for a non-valid religious purpose, it is not permissible, because that is considered cooperation in sin and aggression. Therefore, it is not permissible to translate anything related to fortune-telling (coffee cup reading), unless it is for the purpose of refuting it and demonstrating its falsehood.
