How can one get rid of the practice of masturbation and watching pornography despite religious commitment and sometimes feeling like a hypocrite?

Casting one's gaze upon what Allah has forbidden corrupts the heart, while lowering it illuminates the heart. You must repent from looking at what is forbidden and remember that Allah is watching. Seek His help and supplicate to Him, for lowering your gaze makes it easier to abandon this forbidden habit, and a Muslim forsakes it in obedience to Allah. These sins can lead to greater ones and may even become major sins through persistence. Repent to your Lord and strive against your soul to abandon acts of disobedience, in fulfillment of His, the Almighty's, saying: "And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways." These sins alone do not constitute hypocrisy, but persistence in them may trivialize the significance of sins. Preserve your good deeds through repentance and abstaining from sins.
