It is permissible for a girl to search for a husband through legitimate means, as occurred during the time of the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him. However, the Internet carries many risks, such as the difficulty of discerning the truth and the prevalence of immoral individuals on it. If a suitor wishes to see his fiancée, he may do so within legitimate bounds, such as avoiding privacy () and not revealing what is impermissible to reveal. If the questioner is certain that she will only frequent committed websites, then it is permissible for her to search and expiate for her oath, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever takes an oath and then sees something better than it, let him do that which is better and expiate for his oath."
