Is it permissible to work in a restaurant that serves meat to children, while harboring doubts about its being halal?

If the meat is suspected of being pork, it is not permissible to offer it to children. However, if it is halal meat and there is doubt as to whether it was slaughtered according to Islamic law, it is halal as long as the slaughterer is someone whose slaughter is valid (Muslim, Christian, Jew). The doubt is not to be heeded. Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen said: "If this meat comes from someone whose slaughtered animal is permissible, then it is halal, and we are not required to ask how it was slaughtered, nor to ask whether they mentioned the name of Allah over it or not." He cited the Hadith of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Indeed, some people bring us meat, and we do not know whether they mentioned the name of Allah over it or not." He said: "You yourselves mention [the name of Allah] and eat." The Jews used to gift meat to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he would eat it without asking.
