What is the ruling on producing, exporting, and selling various types of clothing (T-shirts, shorts, trousers, tracksuits, sweatshirts) for men, women, children, and girls, which may reveal or accentuate parts of the body, taking into consideration the difference in purpose (for the local market or for export to Muslim and non-Muslim countries), the type of user (men, women, children, girls), and the place of use (inside or outside the home)? What is the position of those working in this factory? And how can one expiate for working in it for many years if its prohibition is proven?

It is forbidden to manufacture clothes that reveal the 'awrah for men, women, or children above the age of seven. However, it is permissible for children under the age of seven. It is also forbidden to manufacture women's clothing specifically designed for ostentatious display (tabarruj), unless it is to be exported to countries where tabarruj is not permitted. Anyone who works in the manufacturing of these forbidden clothes must repent, abandon this work, and seek permissible employment, unless there is a compelling necessity. In such a case, he may remain in the job until he finds another, provided he gives away in charity any money exceeding his essential needs.
