If you condition a divorce on your wife doing something that angers you, then if that which angers you occurs, the divorce takes effect. This is because intention can specify or generalize an oath. The intention is referred to in matters of oaths. Some scholars hold that it is an oath requiring an expiation for breaking an oath (kaffarat ) upon its violation. If your intention was merely to warn and threaten, then a promise of divorce has no consequence unless the husband enacts it. You should review your intention and purpose, and it is best to present the matter directly to scholars.
